The aim of the competition is to test and compare innovative solutions in the field of loitering munitions. The EDA relies on practical tests in multinational exercises to assess the various systems regarding their performance, reliability, and integration. Participants can present their technologies in controlled scenarios to collect objective performance data. An information session on 17 March will inform potential participants about the entry requirements and technical specifications. Interested parties must register to receive detailed information and conditions. The competition is open to participants from EU member states.

The Sentinel Strike Challenge is not a traditional tender procedure, but rather an innovation competition in accordance with EU financial rules. Such prize contests offer small and medium-sized enterprises as well as start-ups the opportunity to showcase their products in a military context without being bound to conventional tenders.

The competition takes place against the backdrop of an increasingly accelerated modernisation of procurement and innovation processes in Europe. National armed forces and the European defence industry must make modern technology and network systems more quickly accessible to meet growing demands.
