Based on a powerful NXP Arm i.MX8X quad-core processor and the integration of multiple I/Os, Kontron's µDARC aims to "set the standard as the most compact, lightweight and energy-efficient microserver solution on the market".

Kontron's µDARC is specifically designed for harsh edge computing environments in the tactical domain. The µDARC provides comprehensive computing power and connectivity for network-centric operations and is suitable for managing real-time data acquisition and transmission applications for wearable devices, UGVs including LiDAR, GPS and cameras, UAVs for object detection, path planning and telemetry aggregation, gateway/cybersecurity and health monitoring.

This interoperable, pre-integrated and pre-validated mission computer is developed and produced in Europe and is ITAR-free. It enables cost and time savings in the development and integration of mission systems using modified commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions, reducing time-to-market. It also offers greater flexibility when introducing new technologies and facilitates technical upgrades and updates.

High performance efficiency and long-term availability of at least 10 years

The Kontron µDARC offers power efficiency of less than 5 watts, an ultra-compact, lightweight and sealed IP67 housing weighing only 735 g and measuring 59.2 mm x 111 mm x 38.4 mm and is available now with a minimum of 10 years guaranteed product availability. A special long-term service package is also available beyond the end-of-life date and a warranty extension of up to 5 years can be offered.
