The declaration of intent between Diehl Defence and the University of the Bundeswehr Munich (UniBw M) includes the common goal of strengthening both the defence capability and the technological sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Germany. This is to be realized through demand-oriented research and the exchange on academic talent development.

As a result, discussions on in-depth, interdisciplinary collaboration in various areas of research and development are being initiated and developed into targeted work topics. The possible areas focus on particularly pressing future fields, from technical—such as aerospace activities, information and production technologies—to non-technical topics in the field of economics. The exchange of knowledge and resources between university and industry creates new paths and solutions that meet both national and international challenges.

Helmut Rauch was pleased about the cooperation: "We greatly appreciate this partnership with the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. By combining academic excellence and industrial know-how, we can drive forward pioneering developments that will make our armed forces, country and Europe stronger in times of global challenges."

Prof. Eva-Maria Kern emphasized: "We are convinced that with Diehl Defence as a strong industrial partner, we make our contribution to technological sovereignty and defence capability through joint research and knowledge transfer. In times like these, it is essential to pool expertise. Our partnership underlines this."
