The space rocket of the Munich start-up Isar Aerospace, which is accompanied by significant hopes from the European space industry, is now set to launch for its second test flight in March. The technical issue that prevented the originally scheduled launch last week has been resolved, as the company stated. The new launch window from the Norwegian spaceport Andøya begins on March 19.

The rocket, named Spectrum, completed its first test flight in March 2025, with only 30 seconds passing before crashing. Last week, the company had to cancel the second flight at short notice due to a pressure valve not functioning as expected. "We were able to quickly resolve the valve issue and clear the way for the launch preparations," said company CEO and co-founder Daniel Metzler.

The rocket is designed for the transport of low Earth orbit satellites. The considerable interest in the European space industry is due to Europe's current inability to launch satellites with its own technology. For a long time, the vast majority of European satellites have been launched into space by the aerospace company SpaceX, owned by the right-leaning US billionaire Elon Musk.
