Testing Operations with SSC Space Isar Aerospace opens second test site

Isar Aerospace is advancing towards scalable space exploration by notably enhancing its testing facilities at the Esrange Space Center in Kiruna, Sweden. Collaborating with SSC Space, the company is set to establish an additional test location to support the development and production scale-up of its 'Spectrum' launch vehicle.

While the new production site near Munich approaches completion, with interior finishes underway, the expansion at Esrange will facilitate greater capabilities for ramping up launch vehicle production. This is achieved by enabling integrated acceptance testing to align with an intensified launch schedule.

The new acceptance test facility is specifically designed to test over 30 engines per month and will support comprehensive stage acceptance testing. This enhancement equips Isar Aerospace with increased flexibility and capability to meet the rising market demand for launch services. Every aspect of the test sites is customised to fulfil Isar Aerospace's needs, reinforcing their strategy of vertically integrating launch operations across design, manufacturing, testing, and execution.
