Kontron, a provider of IoT and embedded computing technology and avionics solutions, introduces the new Ace Flight 4609. The high performance avionics server has been specifically developed for the latest inflight entertainment and connectivity systems in aviation.

The Ace Flight 4609 combines powerful onboard computing technology with a robust avionics design, addressing the growing demand from airlines for bandwidth intensive passenger services and digital applications. Based on the latest Intel processor technology, the platform delivers the performance required for inflight entertainment and information, connectivity management and various airline services.

The system is designed for flexibility and scalability and integrates high speed networking, extensive avionics interfaces and large, removable storage capacities. This provides airlines and connectivity providers with a wide range of applications while simplifying integration and upgrades at the same time.

The Ace Flight 4609 has been specifically developed for use in avionics and meets stringent environmental and reliability standards. At the same time, it offers maximum data centre level computing performance in a compact platform. Compared to its predecessor, the Ace Flight 4608 with an 8 core Intel Xeon processor and DDR4 architecture, the Ace Flight 4609 features a 14 core Intel i7 Raptor Lake processor, 64 GB DDR5 memory and enhanced 5G and LTE connectivity. This results in significantly higher computing performance, increased data throughput and expanded storage capacity for demanding connected applications in flight operations.

“As airlines continue to expand their digital services onboard, computing power in the aircraft is more important than ever, ” said Yves Beaumont, Product Manager Avionics at Kontron. “ The Ace Flight 4609 provides a powerful and scalable platform for the next generation of connected aircraft applications. ”

Visitors to the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2026 in Hamburg from 14 to 16 April can experience the new solutions up close at the Kontron stand 2E24 in hall 2. To arrange a meeting, please visit kontron.com/AIX-2026
