NFPs help put the EDF into practice by working closely with the European Commission. Their role is to reach out to companies, researchers, and other stakeholders, provide guidance to applicants, and support partnership-building throughout the whole EDF process.

They also organise events including national EDF Info Days and share key information related to funding calls. In addition, NFPs can help organisations find project partners and guide them towards other useful support services and funding opportunities.

As the European Defence Fund (EDF) continues to grow, several Member States are organising national Info Days throughout March 2026. These events aim to help companies, research organisations, and other stakeholders better understand funding opportunities and how to apply.

  • 19/03 – Greece, Athens: The Hellenic Defence Innovation Centre (ELSKA) will host the Hellenic EDF Info Day 2026.
  • 19/03 – Slovenia, Ljubljana: The Slovenian Business and Research Association (SBRA), together with the Ministry of Defence, will organise a national Info Day for Slovenian companies.
  • 23/03 – Denmark, Copenhagen: The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) and DI Danish Defence and Security will host Denmark’s EDF Info Day.
  • 31 March – Hungary (Budapest): Hungary is planning to host its national Info Day, with more details to be announced soon.
  • 14/04 – Croatia, Zagreb: The Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster, together with Croatian Employers' Association and the Ministry of Defence, is hosting national EDF Info Days.

Through these Info Days, Member States aim to help more organisations take part in the European Defence Fund and make the most of available EU funding opportunities.
