"We want to invest 30 to 40 million euros over the next few years to expand pyrotechnics at the Silberhütte site," says Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger at the Silberhütte site of Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH. The aim is nothing less than at least doubling capacity, preferably tripling it. This should please the approximately 300 employees in Saxony-Anhalt. At least 100 should be added in the course of the expansion. The state government has promised its support. According to Papperger, Silberhütte is the Rheinmetall Group's largest pyrotechnics site worldwide.

Economics Minister Sven Schulze (CDU) visited the company. He said that it is important to the state government and also to him personally that eastern Germany, and therefore of course Saxony-Anhalt, will benefit from such investments.
