Parasoft, a global provider of AI-driven software testing solutions, has partnered with Canadian aerospace company Ribbit to enhance the safety and reliability of autonomous flight systems designed for civil, defence, and humanitarian missions.

Ribbit focuses on retrofitting small, cost-efficient aircraft with autonomous autopilot software instead of developing entirely new airframes. The core system, written in C++, is designed to meet strict safety-critical standards while enabling rapid development cycles. Using Parasoft’s C/C++test and C++test CT tools, Ribbit has achieved 95% test coverage across continuous integration pipelines and full compliance with industry standards such as MISRA and JSF.

“Integrating Parasoft’s static analysis and testing solutions helps us deliver consistent product quality and demonstrate rigorous development processes to regulators,” said Carl Pigeon, co-founder and CEO of Ribbit. “This was key to securing multiple multimillion-dollar government contracts and approvals for unmanned test flights.”

The collaboration supports Ribbit’s “proven with use” approach, where autonomous systems are first validated with onboard safety pilots before progressing to remotely supervised missions. This step-by-step strategy aligns with Transport Canada’s Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) framework, enabling safe and scalable testing in real-world conditions.

Parasoft’s TÜV SÜD certification and aerospace expertise ensure compliance with DO-178C and other safety requirements. The integration of AI-powered issue triaging allows Ribbit’s engineers to prioritise the most critical code improvements while maintaining fast-paced, iterative development cycles.

Since adopting Parasoft’s tools, Ribbit has secured several government contracts for defence and humanitarian applications and strengthened its position in the emerging autonomous aviation sector.
