Sphera, a provider of integrated software, data and consulting services for sustainability and operational risk management, announced the deployment of its Hazardous Material Management System (HMMS as part of a partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

Through its collaboration with the DLA, Sphera is providing NASA with a unified HMMS platform that serves as an agency-wide standard for hazardous materials management. This strengthens due diligence and accountability in the handling of hazardous materials, supports daily operations and enables future space missions. The system is already in use at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia and the Armstrong Flight Research Center in California, and is currently being expanded across NASA as the agency-wide standard for hazardous materials management.
