State of Excitement Planqc Builds Blueprint for Scalable Neutral-Atom Quantum Computers

Planqc, one of the first start-ups from Munich Quantum Valley, has the blueprint for scalable quantum computers. The company is currently building a thousand-qubit quantum computer for the Leibniz Supercomputing Center. The German Aerospace Center (DLR) also wants its own Planqc!
A status update from the LRZ: In a network of research institutions and industrial partners, Planqc is working on a digitally programmable neutral atom system with over 1,000 qubits for the Leibniz Supercomputing Center (LRZ) in Garching near Munich. The device will be integrated as a co-processor into an existing HPC system as part of the (MAQCS) project and is scheduled to be inaugurated before 2027.
