BINDER GmbH will in future also specifically tailor its portfolio to the requirements of the defence industry. The company offers environmental simulation chambers and project-specific testing solutions for applications in which materials, components and systems must function reliably even under demanding environmental conditions.

Reliable results for safety-critical applications

BINDER systems precisely reproduce defined temperature and humidity conditions. This provides development departments and testing laboratories with reproducible results as a basis for assessing quality, safety and operational readiness. The simulation chambers support standards-compliant testing, including in accordance with MIL-STD and STANAG.

"In defence projects, test results must be traceable, reproducible and technically robust," says Adrian Stanton, Director of Business Development. "That is why we support our customers from selecting the right system through to integration into existing testing and approval processes."

Testing technology for different components and systems

The portfolio includes climate and temperature test chambers, walk-in climate chambers and battery test chambers. Depending on the model, the climate test chambers cover temperature ranges from minus 70 to 180°C (approx. minus 94 to 356°F) and humidity ranges from 10 to 98 percent relative humidity. For large components, assemblies and complete systems, walk-in chambers with floor areas of up to 22 square metres (approx. 237 square feet) are available.

Battery test chambers provide controlled test conditions for cells, modules and packs. Optional safety equipment can be configured based on EUCAR hazard levels. Temperature test chambers complement the portfolio for drying, heat treatment and thermal storage at temperatures of up to 300°C (approx. 572°F).

Engineering and service throughout the entire operating life

Not every testing task can be covered by a standard configuration. BINDER therefore also develops project-specific solutions based on proven systems. These include special access ports and reinforcements, the integration of customer-specific components, extended controller functions and fully customisable walk-in climate chambers.

Technical consultation, support with parameter configuration, as well as documentation, certificates and standards-related testing documents accompany the planning and implementation process. Installation, commissioning, maintenance, calibration and technical support subsequently contribute to reliable and compliant operation.

In this way, BINDER addresses key requirements of technical decision-makers in defence testing laboratories. For this target group, in addition to precision and robustness, safety standards, complete documentation, traceability and readily available technical support are particularly important. Purchasing decisions are based primarily on performance data, certificates and practical evidence.

BINDER at EUDEX 2026

From 22 to 25 September 2026, BINDER will be exhibiting at the Euro Defence Expo in Essen (Germany). Trade visitors can learn more on site about solutions for standards-compliant material testing and environmental simulation and discuss specific testing requirements with BINDER experts.

BINDER can be found in Hall 3, Stand B16.
