Strengthening defence capabilities through technological innovation is at the heart of Rheinmetall’s presence at this year’s AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C. (12–14 October 2026). Under the official theme “America’s Army: The Foundation of the Joint Force”, Rheinmetall’s US companies, together with their partners, are presenting key next-generation technologies at stand #2825.
With a strong industrial base across the states of Arkansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Virginia, and more than 1,500 employees in the United States, American Rheinmetall makes a significant contribution to modernising the US Army and strengthening the American defence industry. The company provides transformational capabilities to secure technological superiority, protect soldiers and ensure their operational readiness for future conflicts.
“We deliver the technologies that enable US forces to dominate future battlefields through unmatched lethality, survivability and agility,” says Matt Warnick, CEO of American Rheinmetall. “AUSA 2026 is a key platform for us to demonstrate, through direct engagement with the US Army and the defence community, how our solutions meet the requirements of modern missions with precision and speed.”
Technological highlights at AUSA 2026—Stand #2825
Rheinmetall is showcasing an integrated portfolio covering land operations, tactical mobility, air defence, vehicle autonomy, precision indirect fire and equipment for infantry forces.
The Lynx XM30 is Rheinmetall’s forward-looking response to the US Army’s XM30 combat vehicle programme. Designed to meet the demands of modern conflicts, the system offers extensive networking capabilities, substantial firepower and excellent protection. Its fully open, modular architecture allows new technologies to be integrated rapidly. Initial prototypes have already been delivered to the US Army for testing and evaluation.
Two expert panels will also take place at stand #2825: “Team Lynx: The Right Team Delivers” (Monday, 12 October, 14:00) and “Designed for the Soldier, Not the Spec Sheet” (Tuesday, 13 October, 11:00).
HX truck (CAML solution)—combat-proven, autonomous and ready
To meet the US Army’s need for a highly mobile, air-transportable launch platform, the HX truck family offers a solution that is available now. With more than 20,000 vehicles in service worldwide and proven autonomous systems deployed across 24 chassis types in 19 countries, the system is technologically mature. This was demonstrated in June 2026 during a successful CAML mission demonstration at Redstone Arsenal.
The platform supports safe autonomous operation, convoy and waypoint navigation, remote control, and automated loading and unloading through open-architecture interfaces.
Boxer with Skyranger 30—agile, layered mobile air defence
The Skyranger 30 mm system mounted on the highly protected and flexible Boxer platform provides highly effective close-range air defence for mobile formations. By combining different effectors with autonomous target tracking, the system delivers scalable capabilities for countering unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) and for short-range air defence (SHORAD). A remote-controlled weapon station will also be displayed, demonstrating precise, highly mobile air defence capabilities against modern airborne threats.
Uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs) and robotics for modern formations
Ox: A modular, autonomy-ready platform drawing on Rheinmetall’s 20 years of experience with UGVs. It supports platoons and squads with quiet mobility and flexible mission payloads, ranging from casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) and resupply to electronic warfare and counter-drone operations. The system is currently participating in the US Army’s GOAT programme.
MUSKOX: A next-generation medium UGV featuring a hybrid-electric chassis, advanced autonomy and AI-assisted control. Designed for scalable logistics and combat support, it has been shortlisted for the US Army’s Project Sustainment programme.
Mission Master SP: Preselected for the Last Tactical Mile programme, this “Silent Partner” offers full autonomy, high payload capacity, optional amphibious capability and air transportability. It supports supply chains all the way to the front line while strengthening US production.
Wild Goose: An established, robust robotic system for dismounted forces. With a payload capacity of 150 kg (330 lb) and a range of up to 25 km (approximately 15.5 miles), it can be configured flexibly for a wide variety of infantry missions.
Advanced ammunition and effectors for medium and large calibres
Rheinmetall is underscoring its global leadership in the development of modern ammunition. Products on display include extended-range 155 mm artillery ammunition, featuring extended-range propelling charges and range-optimised V-LAP projectiles, as well as advanced airburst technology. The portfolio also includes the Highly-Advanced Multi-Mission Rifle, a revolutionary magazine-fed 40 mm grenade launcher designed to give infantry squads scalable combat superiority.
