Following the recent drone incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport, the vulnerability of civilian infrastructure has once again come into sharp focus. In this interview, Dr Marius Lammers, co-founder and CEO of Inleap Photonics, explains why systematic airspace monitoring is urgently needed, how AI and laser technology can neutralise threats with minimal collateral damage, and why keeping humans in the loop remains essential.
