The agreement sets out how Saab and GKN Aerospace will work together on engine- and propulsion-related activities within the Gripen E/F program. It is intended to further strengthen the Gripen E/F offering for both Swedish and international customers. “Gripen is based on strong industrial partnerships. By deepening our cooperation with GKN Aerospace, we create better conditions for further development, high availability for our customers, and a competitive offering on the global market,” says Johan Segertoft, Head of Saab’s Gripen business area.

Beyond technical support

GKN Aerospace is already involved in the maintenance of Gripen engines and in technical support in Sweden. The new agreement expands the collaboration to include long-term capacity expansion and enhanced customer support services for current and future Gripen operators. Saab and GKN Aerospace will also continue discussions on strengthening long-term Swedish capabilities related to the Gripen E/F engine.
