The agreement enables both companies to combine expertise in high-end technologies, including navigation systems for GNSS-denied environments, atomic clock timeservers, and advanced vehicle and handheld optronics. The flexible framework simplifies logistics and administration, accelerating delivery timelines and allowing both partners to focus on innovation and the development of next-generation defence solutions.

“With this strategic agreement, we are laying the foundation for a strong partnership that opens up new perspectives and enables us to drive innovation together, thus contributing to actively shape the future of our industry,” said Christian Martens from Rheinmetall’s Business Unit Defence Electronics.

Marzell Schiller, CEO of Safran Electronics & Defense Germany, added: “We’re excited to deepen our collaboration with Rheinmetall and introduce state-of-the-art solutions. This agreement reflects the trust between our teams and opens new possibilities for ambitious projects ahead.”

Under the agreement, Rheinmetall Electronics has already placed orders for Safran’s navigation and timing products, such as the Versasynch system, benefitting from the streamlined procurement process introduced by the new framework.

The collaboration supports the shared Franco-German ambition to strengthen Europe’s defence industrial base and foster technological sovereignty. By pooling resources and expertise, both companies aim to enhance the competitiveness and autonomy of the European defence sector.
