The electronic cable system of an aircraft may not be visible, but with its composite materials, alloys and insulators it plays a central role in aerospace sustainability initiatives.
Keeping up with sustainability requirements in the aerospace industry is challenging. However, reducing environmental impact while maintaining the industry's high standards for safety and performance is a must. Aircraft cable systems are no exception and manufacturers are already increasingly turning to new, lightweight materials such as aluminum alloys, carbon fiber composites and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) sheathing.
