Why lights out machining often stops earlier than expected in FMS environments

In many flexible manufacturing systems more runtime would be possible during nights or weekends. In practice it often ends earlier than expected, not because of the machine, but because the process around it does not fully carry through.

This was exactly the topic of our recent webinar on automated pallet loading in FMS.

The level of interest was striking. Registrations and participation clearly showed that many manufacturers are currently facing the same challenge.

Especially in high mix low volume environments such as aerospace, the key question is how to keep the process stable even without operators.

How do you build enough buffer without increasing the number of fixtures and pallets significantly?

The webinar recordings address exactly this point and show how pallet auto loading can support longer and more stable unmanned production cycles.
