Guided missiles and cruise missiles from MBDA in Schrobenhausen

The German subsidiary of the European armaments group MBDA is also getting its share of the armaments business and is growing. Before the start of the war in Ukraine, the company had around 1,100 employees, but this figure has now risen to around 1,400. By the end of the year, a further 300 people are expected to increase this figure to around 1,700. MBDA is investing in a new production facility in Schrobenhausen, Bavaria, to manufacture guided missiles for the US Patriot air defense system. The Group has received an order for this for the German Armed Forces and NATO partners. In Germany, MBDA also manufactures missiles for the Eurofighter, for which the company recently received a major order. The Taurus cruise missiles are also products from this weapons manufacturer.

Drone production is also flying high

Drone manufacturers are more in demand than ever before. However, this also applies to investors, as drone experts are currently seen as having great growth potential. The defense company Helsing from Munich, for example, recently raised a further 600 million euros from investors. Helsing is already building the HX-2 kamikaze drone, which is being used by Ukraine and is to be tested by the German armed forces. The company also recently presented an underwater system and developed artificial intelligence (AI) to guide a fighter aircraft in complex air combat scenarios. The company is joined by Quantum Dynamics from Gilching in Bavaria, whose expertise lies in the development and construction of surveillance drones.
