The armaments group KNDS has inaugurated a new production line in Munich for the flexibly equipable wheeled vehicle called the Boxer (the Bundeswehr calls it the Jackal, by the way). It is said that up to ten driving modules per month will be produced there. For those who don't know, the vehicle has a modular design. Depending on the attachment system, the Boxer can be used for a wide variety of purposes. The range of applications extends from an armored personnel carrier to a howitzer carrier to an ambulance vehicle. The new production line is also part of a larger package of measures aimed at increasing the capacity for building Boxer systems six-fold by 2030, as ma emphasises. The vehicle is also being produced at various locations - including outside Bavaria - and has already won over various armies around the world, including the UK, the Netherlands, Lithuania and Australia.
