According to Renk, an Augsburg-based defence supplier, the company is on the verge of acquiring the British transmission manufacturer David Brown Defence.

David Brown Defence is valued at between 200 and 250 million dollars, the Bloomberg news agency reported yesterday evening, citing people familiar with the matter. An official announcement could be made as early as today. With this move, Renk is expanding its business in the naval sector and securing the right technology for submarine propulsion systems. David Brown Defence is headquartered in Huddersfield. The British company develops custom-made transmission systems for land and water vehicles, according to reports. The company is a subsidiary of David Brown Santasalo, which was acquired by Stellex in 2023. No statements have yet been issued by Renk, David Brown, or its owner, the private equity firm Stellex Capital Management.
